Making strides for a greener future! At Hamilton Medical, we have reduced transport volume, CO2 emissions, and a whopping 12 tons of plastic waste annually. How did we do it? By getting inventive! Previously, our flow sensor tubing came wound on single-use plastic drums, piling up over 10,000 drums a year as waste. But thanks to the support of our supplier RAUMEDIC, we have found a solution! Now, our tubing can be rolled up without the need for drums, reducing waste and environmental impact. #SustainabilityAtHamilton #GreenFuture #EcoResponsable #Ecology #IntelligentVentilation

Hamilton implementation in Vestfold 🙌 The hospital in Vestfold, Norway, recently celebrated the launch of 8 new HAMILTON-C1 ventilators with NIV (non-invasive ventilation) setup. Our Norwegian team of ventilation specialists has prepared the ventilators and trained the users, so now both people and equipment are set up for success 💪 The HAMILTON-C1 is a small but very versatile and high-performing ventilator. It has advanced settings for lung-protective ventilation and can be used with both high flow, non-invasive and invasive ventilation 🫁✨ Thanks to the staff at Vestfold Hospital and our Norwegian implementation team for the lovely pictures 🙏 #RespiratoryTherapy #InteligentVentilation #CriticalCare Hamilton Medical

#VentilationToThePoint: What is the best PEEP to balance lung recruitment and avoid overdistension? Finding the optimal level depends greatly on the patient and their lung disease, which can make it a challenging task. A recent study in #ARDS patients explored the use of an expiratory parameter as an alternative to traditional methods for selecting PEEP based on inspiratory parameters. Could RCexp be a promising approach for PEEP titration and individualizing ventilation strategies? You have an early-onset ARDS patient and you are concerned about his oxygenation. You want to be sure your ventilation strategy is lung protective and the parameters are not damaging the small baby lung. Could he benefit from lung recruitment? Or will the increase in pressure just cause overdistension of the lung units that are already open? Find out how pressure-volume curves can help you assess the chances of successful recruitment at the bedside: https://okt.to/n8EBTr #Knowlegde #ClinicalEvidence #IntelligentVentilation #BedsideTip

We would like to inform you that we discontinued the Hamilton Connect App on April 15, 2024. This means the Hamilton Connect App is no longer available for download from either app store, and updates and support for the app have been ceased. The app will no longer be usable after July 15. The changing technical requirements imposed by the Google Play Store and Apple App Store primarily forced this decision. We did not take this decision lightly and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. #CriticalCare #IntelligentVentilation #RespiratoryTherapy

Theory tells us that lung recruitment and PEEP titration can benefit ARDS patients. In practice, the response can vary greatly. To evaluate a patient’s potential for recruitment before performing a recruitment maneuver, both the pressure‑volume curve and recruitment‑to‑inflation ratio can be used at the bedside. But what is the relationship between assessments based on the two different methods? Read the next article in our “To the point” collection to learn what Japanese researchers found out in a study of COVID-19 patients! https://okt.to/Wsw2aU #ToThePoint #VentilationKnowlegde #ClinicalEvidence #IntelligentVentilation #VentilationToThePoint
