Session
Description: Throughout the world, parents are concerned about the presence of toxins in the foods that their children eat as well as in the air that they breathe. Elevated levels of toxins in corn, cereals, nuts, milk, juice and eggs pose a public health problem, especially in low-income countries and in the rural areas of some middle- and high-income countries. This session will describe some of the adverse effects of exposure to these toxins on health, including problems such as delayed growth and development, reduced immune responses, seizures, respiratory problems, and liver cancer.
