Session
Description: Experiencing resource discrimination and disparities before, during, and after pregnancy can play a critical role in adversely altering fetal and neonatal growth. Improved access to high-quality health care, education and employment opportunities are instrumental in reducing abnormal fetal growth patterns, such as fetal growth restriction and macrosomia. Examining how certain health disparities persist, evaluating mechanisms that contribute to chronic inflammation, and exploring interventions to mitigate nutrition-based inequities are essential to improving perinatal and neonatal health outcomes.
