Session

Description: Perinatal Brain Club 2023 will address Advances in Neonatal Neurocritical Care. The session will highlight timely topics in neonatal neurocritical care that range from research informed clinical care through education at the intersection of neonatology and neurology.
Dr. Sonia Bonifacio will address the broadening the scope of neonatal neurocritical care. Dr. Yvonne Wu will address the path forward from Erythropoietin and Hypothermia following the recent clinical trial findings. Dr. Zach Vesoulis will address how brain monitoring informs brain protective critical care. Dr. Laura Ment will speak to training the next generation of neonatal neurocritical care leaders. The presentations will be followed by a panel discuss and Q&A.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion, participants will be able to identify recent advances in neonatal neurocritical care.
Upon completion, participants will be able to identify the application of contemporary brain monitoring in the neonatal intensive care unit.
Upon completion, participants will be able to identify future opportunities for brain protection in the newborn undergoing therapeutic hypothermia.
