Description: Adolescent Health: Prevention & Protection The adolescent health SIG will provide a forum for interdisciplinary discussion of key issues and trends in adolescent health research. The session will feature comments from the President of the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine (SAHM) on the state of adolescent health research and SAHM’s wide-ranging efforts to cultivate high quality investigation of adolescent health issues. This will be followed by two lightning talks on key research areas in adolescent health and medicine, showcasing the rapidly evolving domains of inquiry within adolescent health and forecasting future directions. Dr. Errol Fields will discuss racial HIV/STI disparities impacting sexual and gender diverse youth, and Dr. Elise Berlan will discuss opportunities to meet the contraceptive needs of youth across diverse settings. Finally, the group will share ideas on how to cultivate engagement of the interdisciplinary adolescent health investigators and advocates at PAS to maximize connectivity and collaboration.
