Session
Description: Despite the existence of guidelines around prevention bundles, hospitalized children continue to suffer from hospital-acquired device-associated infections, including central line associated bloodstream infections (CLABSI), catheter-associated UTI (CAUTI), and ventilator-associated pneumonia. These hospital-acquired infections lead to increased morbidity and costs and also account for a large proportion of antibiotic use and misuse in hospitalized children. This session will provide an update on established and new prevention strategies for CLABSI, CAUTI, and VAP, focusing on recent evidence.
