Description: E-learning and Medical Student Education SIG Innovation Potpourri leveraging technology to address educational challenges Educators often face challenges with using technology for small group teaching for micro-learning and Just- in- time coaching for small group and large group didactics. Technology offers innovative solutions to address problems that clinician educators face. With learners exposed to increasing technological advances, the medical community needs to embrace the use of tools that can enhance quality of instruction and markedly improve learning outcomes. In this innovation potpourri, participants will witness firsthand the use of Virtual Reality in teaching procedural skills, in a risk free environment that allows for deliberate practice and in developing muscle memory. They will the rotate to using an app-based module for micro teaching, where they will witness first hand on how to gamify learning. In the last station they will learn to create Infographs that can be used for small group teaching and learning. All stations will allow participants the opportunities to collaborate with experts in each field and pursue these efforts outside of the national PAS meetings
These small group activities will be followed by large group discussion, that allow participants to reflect on lessons learnt and pose questions on challenges they face. Following this discussion, we will select 4 posters from submissions for presentation. Participants will have 5 mins for presentations with 2 mins for questions.
