Description: The John Howland Award is the highest honor given by the American Pediatric Society. This prestigious award is bestowed annually upon an esteemed pediatric leader whose significant contributions have advanced child health and the profession of pediatrics. The 2023 Howland Award Recipient is Dr. Yvonne Maldonado, Senior Associate Dean for Faculty Development; Taube Endowed Professor of Global Health and Infectious Diseases; Professor of Pediatrics and of Epidemiology and Population Health; and Chief, Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Stanford University School of Medicine.
